Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director to lead our team in providing exceptional care and services within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of patient care, and the ability to manage crises effectively. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our organization meets the highest standards of care while fostering a supportive environment for both staff and residents.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in patient care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance the quality of care provided to residents.
- Manage crisis situations with effective decision-making and communication skills.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient assessments and care plans are in place.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding and medical terminology to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Provide clinical counseling and support to staff, residents, and families as needed.
- Promote dementia care strategies that enhance the quality of life for residents experiencing cognitive decline.
- Lead training sessions on motivational interviewing techniques for staff to improve resident engagement in their care plans.
- Foster relationships with community organizations to enhance home community care services.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a nursing home or similar healthcare setting, with a strong focus on patient care.
- Demonstrated expertise in crisis management and problem-solving within a clinical environment.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding practices and medical terminology relevant to patient documentation.
- Knowledge of dementia care principles and best practices for supporting individuals with cognitive impairments.
- Strong background in clinical counseling techniques, including motivational interviewing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage staff and engage with residents and families.
- A relevant degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field is preferred.
Licensure, Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, or holds a degree in Medical Social Work
- Nursing: Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Degree Preferred
- MSW: Master’s Degree Required
- Active license to practice as an RN or Licensed Medical Social Worker in the state(s) in which patient care is
- provided.
- One (1) - two (2) years of hospice experience as a Registered Nurse or Medical Social Worker within the last seven
(7) years preferred, or as prescribed by state law and regulation if such exceeds these requirements years.
- Three (3) years of hospice or related health care organization experience managing caregivers within the last five (5)
