(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

Department Specific Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary mental health liaison for students within the designated college, providing accessible, culturally informed, and responsive support tailored to the academic environment and student population
  • Collaborates closely with college leadership, including the Dean and academic departments, to identify trends, gather relevant mental health data, and present findings that inform student support strategies and faculty engagement
  • Develops and delivers targeted outreach and psychoeducational programming within the college, including presentations to faculty and staff on student mental health concerns, referral processes, and best practices for supporting student well-being
  • Maintains a visible and approachable presence within the college building, offering drop-in hours, consultation, and brief interventions to reduce barriers to care and foster a supportive academic community
  • Provides support for other divisional priorities and initiatives beyond the department's scope, as requested

Job Summary

Provides a comprehensive array of counseling services to the campus community, including initial consultations, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, short-term individual counseling, and both psychoeducational and process-focused group counseling. Engages in prevention and educational efforts by designing and delivering psychoeducational programs.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direct clinical services to university students
  • Provides crisis intervention and after-hours emergency on-call coverage
  • Provides outreach and consultation to campus community
  • Provides clinical supervision to graduate student trainees
  • Utilizes and maintains the electronic health record

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in counseling, psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy

Other Required Qualifications

Current, valid, and unrestricted license or associate license per the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage & Family Therapists

Required Experience

Previous internship providing counseling services

Preferred Educational Qualifications

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

An advanced degree from an accredited in a mental health profession

Preferred Experience

Three (3) years of related work experience

Experience with electronic health record systems

Experience working with diverse individuals and groups

Experience with mental health issues in institutions of higher education

Previous experience with program development and coordination

Previous experience in event coordination and management

Previous experience in social media and outreach

Proposed Salary

The midpoint of the salary range is $72,000 annually.

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Electronic Medical Record systems)

Strong attention to detail and follow up skills

Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
