Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Position Type: Part-time (up to 31 hours per week) or full-time (32 hours a week or more). Contractor, hourly W2 employee or full-time salaried options available.

Hours: Primarily afternoons and evenings (11am-7pm) with possible occasional weekends based on client availability

Location: Client home(s) or clinic located at 901 Biesterfield Rd, Suite 110, Elk Grove Village

Reports to: Clinic Director

Benefits:

o Hourly pay rate of $40-70 per hour based on experience, level of education and other certifications. Starting base salary is $70,000 per year, with additional compensation based on experience, level of education and other certifications. Salary positions also have the opportunity for bill billing bonuses up to $24,000 per year
o 20 hours of sick time for part-time staff
o 40 hours of sick time, and 80 hours of paid time off and 7 paid holidays for full-time staff
o Medical, dental and vision insurance available for full time staff
o Mileage $0.50 per mile after first 10 miles to/from home and all miles between clients/clinic
o Annual performance appraisal that is tied to raises

Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

○ Provide BCBA Supervision to children and young adults ages 2-21 diagnosed with autism in accordance with the following guidelines:
○ Maintain a caseload of 1-5 individuals for part-time staff, and 6-10 individuals for full-time staff
○ Complete face-to-face contact with each child on your caseload via in-person or telehealth appointments on at least a weekly basis
○ Observe 5-20% of each child’s scheduled therapy hours, with an emphasis on having at least one contact per month with each therapist on the child’s team
○ Complete one RBT Competency Treatment Integrity checklist for each therapist on each child’s team each month
○ Provide Behavioral Skills Training (BST) for all therapists on the child’s team, including providing a written description of the child’s treatment plan, explaining the plan, modeling how to implement the plan, observing the staff implement the plan, and providing feedback on staff implementation of the plan until the staff demonstrates competence
○ Create an individualized treatment plan based on each child’s most recent skill and behavior assessments using the Rethink portal. Treatment plans should include an appropriate amount of goals based on each child’s scheduled weekly therapy hours and the authorized service agreement

○ Review data and update program objectives and targets based on the child’s progress
○ Schedule a monthly team meeting for each child with all of the therapists on that child’s team to review program updates, data, etc.
○ Maintain all billing requirements as required by insurance, including documenting a session note and verifying session start and end times.

○Train parents and caregivers in accordance with the following guidelines:
○ Assess parent/caregiver strengths and needs and develop individualized parent coaching goals with parent input
○ Schedule weekly parent coaching sessions with appropriate caregivers for each child on your caseload to implement parent coaching goals as outlined in the child’s authorized service agreement
○ Collect data on parent coaching goals, review data and update objectives and targets based on the parent(s)’ progress
○ Maintain all billing requirements as required by insurance, including documenting a session note and verifying session start and end times

○ Complete initial service authorizations and semi-annual authorization updates:
○ Complete a skills assessment of each child using an evidence-based assessment that has normative data in order to compare the child’s progress to his/her/their peers (e.g., ABLLS-R, AFLS, Vineland,
VB-MAPP, etc)
○ Complete an indirect behavior assessment of each child that documents the frequency/severity of challenging behaviors (e.g., Maladaptive Behavior Assessment or MBA), the hypothesized function of challenging behaviors (e.g., Questions About Behavior Function or QABF, Functional Assessment
Screening Tool or FAST, Functional Assessment Interview or FAI)
○ Complete a direct assessment of each child that documents observations and data collected
○ Complete a medical necessity assessment of each child that recommends an appropriate number of units of service to request for the authorization period
○ Select an appropriate amount of current and future goals to add to the treatment plan based on the child’s skill and behavior assessments
○ Complete all sections of the authorization report using the template available on Rethink
○ Submit completed authorization requests to your supervisor within three weeks of the first day you initiated assessment, and re-authorization requests to your supervisor three weeks before the current authorization expires
○ Maintain all billing requirements as required by insurance, including documenting time spent completing assessments and writing the treatment plan within the approved billable hour limit

○ Maintain professional behavior:
○ Adhere to the BACB’s Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts® as well as all regulatory and statutory rules of the Board of Medicine for the State of IL and BASES Autism Services Staff Handbook
○ Meet at least monthly to report progress to supervisor, discuss concerns and suggestions for improvement, and provide and accept performance feedback
○ Complete training, certification, and testing requirements as assigned
○ Provide supervision to assigned staff Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Therapists (BTs) including completion of annual performance appraisals, RBT competence assessments, BACB supervision documentation (if applicable), and any required disciplinary action.

○ Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

○ Maintain status as an active BCBA with approval to supervise by completing at least the minimum required Continuing Education requirements (including Supervision CEUs) and recertifying every two years
○ At least two years’ experience working directly with children diagnosed with autism and/or intellectual/developmental delays
○ Ability to learn and utilize the ReThink portal for scheduling and billing, creating authorization and reauthorization reports, creating treatment plans, monitoring data, and monitoring available service hours
○ Possession of active CAQH portal account with ability to be credentialed as an approved provider with the company’s network of insurance providers
○ Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Illinois' driving requirements with dependable means of transportation
○ Proof of COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with FDA guidance
○ Safety-Care or Safety-Care for Families Specialist Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment

○ CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment

○ Sexual Harassment Prevention Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment

○ Works both independently as well as part of a team

○ Empathetic and supportive with staff, clients and families

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

○ Ability to stand and move around, get up and down from the floor or a chair, and otherwise able to play with a child for several hours at a time.
○ Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observing students
○ Ability to hear and understand speech at normal speech levels, in the English language
○ Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation
○ Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
○ Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels
○ Daily travel moving between client residences in the Chicagoland area
○ Ability to utilize Safety-Care Training when interacting with individuals that may be displaying physically aggressive, self-injurious, or socially inappropriate behavior
