Counseling may be performed in person or through telehealth in a variety of settings including integration into clinical locations. Functions within the code of ethics for individual licensure boards.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology from an accredited institution with two years clinical counseling experience.LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:Professional behavioral health licensure (i.e. LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT) in North Carolina.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Delivers high quality clinical services of spiritually integrated counseling and psychotherapy, consultation and education.2. Collects full client data in the intake process, establishes clear and written therapeutic contracts, and assists clients to identify and secure desired outcomes.3. Formulates, develops and implements a treatment plan with clients.4. Builds and maintains clinical caseload to meet annual budget for service and income goals. Builds strong referral network to support the caseload.5. Collaborates with administrative staff to gather and document accurate insurance or other payment information. Collects client payments according to center practices and department policies and initiates corrective action on delinquent client accounts.6. Maintains accurate clinical records to document client progress.7. Contributes to departmental effectiveness and operations. Actively participates in department meetings, staff development and case reviews. Represents and promotes the department in the community.8. Develops professionally.9. Maintains current memberships in related professional organizations and attends professional development/continuing education programs identified in personal development plan.10. Receives supervision or consultation to enhance professional effectiveness.11. Initiates collaborative working relationships with other community professionals and disciplines. Adds new skills, licensures or certifications to enhance professional functioning and better outcomes with clients.12. Maintains ethical codes of the profession and of licensing organizations.SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to relate well to client population and to the business, professional and faith leadership of the community served. Ability to maintain personal, emotional, physical, and spiritual health while serving a diverse client population. Works collegially with support and clinical staff to facilitate a positive work environment. Contributes to the administrative operations, marketing, and public relations needs of the center. Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of latest version of the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).WORK ENVIRONMENT:Clean well-lighted office space. Moderate noise environment. May be involved in stressful personnel and client situations.
