Community Alliance has six (6) positions for Peer Support: Safe Harbor, Opioid Program, Supported Employment, Integrated Health Clinic and Community Support.

Community Alliance is offering an integrated health care approach and built on an array of mental health and primary care services. Ideal candidates will have passion for working with vulnerable populations and comfortable in collaborating with other professionals to empower clients to achieve self-defined goals. Leverage your lived experience in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use disorder to assist clients in the rehabilitative and recovery process.

The Peer Support Specialist for Safe Harbor is required to have a State Certification upon hire. The position is fulltime from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.

The Peer Support Specialist for the Opiod Program is required to have State Certification at 6 months of employment and will link with resources and services and will interact with partnering agencies. The position is fulltime from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

The Peer Support Specialist for Employment Services/Worksource is required to have State Certification upon hire. The position is fulltime from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

The Peer Support Specialist for Integrated Health Clinic is required to have Sate Certification upon hire. This position is fulltime from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday

The Peer Support Specialist for Community Support is required to have State Certification upon hire. This position is fulltime from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.


  • Contribute to the development of integrated treatment plans, with a focus on helping clients to articulate self-identified goals for recovery
  • Teach and support clients’ use of coping skills needed to facilitate individual recovery
  • Assist clients in self-managing personal crisis
  • Ensure clients are able to access services that align with goals identified in their treatment plans
  • Proactively collaborate and communicate with members of a multi-disciplinary care team (e.g. information sharing; planned and spontaneous case consultations; collaborative care visits)
Peer Support Specialist for the Opioid Program will work with partnering organizations.

Peer Support Specialist for the FEP will navigate to success by a comprehensive treatment program for teenagers and young adults who have experienced a recent first episode psychosis (FEP). Treatment is provided by coordinated specialty care team, which helps people work toward personal goals and recovery. The program helps clients navigate the road to recovery from an episode of psychosis, including supporting efforts to function well at home, on the job, at school, and in social situations.

Peer Support Specialist for Employment Services will help identify and link employment resources with vocational goals for clients served. Will provide on and off site job coaching and job support.

  • High-school diploma/GED required. Post-secondary education preferred
  • Self-identified as a current or former recipient of professional behavioral health services which has led toward recovery from a major mental illness and/or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder
  • Successful completion of an agency recognized peer specialist training program
  • Knowledge of recovery principles, coping skills, advocacy techniques and community resources
  • Ability to connect, communicate, and effectively work with people from diverse cultural, ethnic, socio-economic, educational, and professional backgrounds

Peer Support Specialist for Safe Harbor State certification as peer specialist is REQUIRED upon hire.

Peer Support Specialist for Opioid Program, Community Support and Integrated Health Clinic.
  • State certification as a peer specialist is required at 6 months of employment.
  • Access to reliable transportation, possession of valid driver’s license, and good driving record.
Peer Support Specialist for FEP Program and Employment Services.
