The BCBA/LABA Consultant will provide educational and behavioral consultation to families, schools and other service agencies regarding the needs of children with autism spectrum disorders. Responsibilities will include assessing students in the home environment, writing treatment plans and IEP's, developing curriculum and behavior support plans, data collection, training and supervision of direct teaching staff, and parent training. These services will be determined based on the needs and will vary from week to week.
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: Masters or Doctorate in Psychology, Special Education or related field required.
Certifications/Licensure: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and LABA certificate required. A valid US driver's license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status. Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements. Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention and Melmark's Orientation Program and New Hire Onsite training program.
Skill(s): Strong background in education, with emphasis on special education and the special needs and requirements of individuals with acquired brain injury, neurological disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. Strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis required.
Experience: Minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of experience providing consultation services to individuals with pervasive developmental disorders.
Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all members of the multidisciplinary team (education personnel, families and funding agencies).
