MissionVet is a multi-disciplinary veterinary specialty and emergency hospital, and we are currently seeking an Internal Medicine Technician to help us continue to build our specialty practice. Compensation:

$19-$23 /hour depending on experience

Schedule:

Full Time
- Weekdays
  - 5x8 hour shifts
  - 4x10 hour shifts
- On-call rotation required

Position Overview:
The Internal Medicine Technician is required to fully assist the practitioners. To help improve the quality of care given to the patients of MissionVet Specialty and Emergency and to aid specialists in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work and administrative details.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Client Interaction:

Restrain pets for exams and treatments.
Escort clients to exam rooms, obtain patient history, record vitals and weights.
Communicate between veterinarian and client, provide medication instructions, and document all interactions.

Diagnostics & Imaging:

Operate and maintain radiography and imaging equipment (Vet Rocket, Vet’s Choice, Your View DR).
Perform and document laboratory tests (CBCs, chemistries, cytology).
Collect and submit samples for lab analysis.

Medical Procedures:

Place IV catheters, administer medications and treatments per daily plans.
Induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia and sedation.
Assist with surgical and non-surgical procedures, including endoscopy.
Maintain surgical suite cleanliness and sterilization of instruments.

Record Keeping & Systems:

Document all treatments, diagnostics, and procedures in medical records and software (Smartflow, Lab CCOM).

Additional Duties:

Participate in after-hours anesthesia/endoscopy call rotations.
Maintain hospital cleanliness, assist other departments, and help with inventory management.
Prepare patients for discharge and ensure comfort and hygiene.

Qualifications:

Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT,CVT,RVT) preferred but not required
2-4 years of veterinary technician experience preferably in an emergency or specialty hospital
Communication: Strong writing skills with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation, adaptable to various writing styles including creative, professional, technical, and educational
Adaptability: Demonstrates a positive approach to the evolving healthcare environment by supporting technological advancements and process changes
Interpersonal Skills: Empathetic, values-driven, and committed to fostering a collaborative work environment
Problem Solving: Excellent listening and problem-solving abilities with a solution-oriented mindset
Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus
The ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.
