About Job

Job Responsibilities

Interviews and assesses students' educational, psychological, and financial needs. Develops Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to assist participants in receiving needed academic assistance. Provides guidance to the participants in admissions, financial aid, and academic counseling. Counsels students on career options and college transfer opportunities. Serves as an academic advisor to participants to ensure students are achieving academic and career goals. Develops and conducts workshops that will provide participants' opportunities to learn success-oriented skills. Develops annual college transfer orientation tours and cultural events for participants. Maintains a tracking system to monitor transfer and cultural opportunities to determine effectiveness of events. Provides reports to Director to ensure participants are following the required guidelines of program. Manages an individual student caseload. Conducts individual and group counseling sessions. Demonstrates and provides leadership capabilities to TRIO state organization (SC TRIO) or national organization Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (SAEOPP). Maintains compliance with federal regulations governing the project and ensures that all applicants meet federal guidelines for program participation.


Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
