We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with experience in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to join our team.


Job Description:


We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with experience in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy to join our pain management facility. The ideal candidate will be able to assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric conditions in patients suffering from chronic pain, including utilizing TMS as an effective treatment for mood disorders associated with chronic pain, such as depression and anxiety. As a part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in supporting the mental health needs of our patients while providing advanced treatments for their physical pain.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess the mental health needs of patients with chronic pain.
  • Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD that often accompany chronic pain.
  • Administer and oversee Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy to patients with treatment-resistant depression or mood disorders related to chronic pain.
  • Monitor patients throughout the course of TMS therapy and adjust treatment protocols as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, pain management specialists, and other healthcare providers to deliver integrated care for patients.
  • Provide medication management and prescribe psychotropic medications as necessary to treat psychiatric conditions.
  • Educate patients about the benefits of TMS therapy and other psychiatric treatments available for pain-related mood disorders.
  • Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and promptly in the medical record.
  • Stay informed about advancements in the field of psychiatric care and pain management, with particular focus on TMS therapy and its use in treating mood disorders associated with chronic pain.
  • Foster a supportive, empathetic environment that addresses both the mental and physical well-being of patients.


Qualifications:


  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry (PMHNP).
  • Valid, active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of [state].
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, preferably with experience in a pain management setting.
  • Strong background in psychiatric evaluation and treatment, including medication management.
  • Experience in administering or overseeing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy (preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
  • Empathetic and compassionate approach to care, particularly for individuals with chronic pain and mental health challenges.


Preferred Skills & Experience:


  • Experience working in a pain management or multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
  • TMS certification or willingness to complete training (we will provide TMS training if needed).
  • Experience with other therapeutic modalities for mood disorders such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
  • BLS/CPR Certification.
