Position: Post Secondary Access Counselor (PAC) Hourly Support Department: Post Secondary Access Team Reports To: Building Principal and Team Lead Employment Status: Part Time, up to 29 hours per week, 4 Month Position Start Date: August 2025 Salary Range: Hourly $22-$30 depending on experience, Application Deadline: Posted until Filled. Position Description: The Met is hiring a part-time substitute postsecondary access counselor (college and career counselor) to provide temporary coverage and support for the school's mission to ensure that every student graduates high school with an appropriate postsecondary plan. This substitute position will primarily support 12th grade students and their advisors (teachers) on an as-needed basis. The substitute counselor will provide continuity of services individual and group work with 12th grade students with some teacher coaching and capacity-building activities, along with. Key responsibilities include disseminating quality resources that advisors and students can use for their postsecondary search and maintaining structured timelines for postsecondary exploration, application, and selection processes. The substitute counselor will meet individually with 12th grade students at critical stages in the process, including finalizing applications and supporting initial applications for financial aid. The counselor will collaborate with 12th grade advisors to facilitate group activities that inform and educate students about various aspects of the postsecondary process as they prepare for graduation. This position emphasizes the comprehensive postsecondary nature of college and career counseling for graduating seniors. While supporting all 12th grade students in college applications and traditional college options, equal priority is placed on ensuring students have parallel pathways available following graduation, including certification programs, job training programs, and blended classroom and work experiences (e.g. Year Up). Additionally, the substitute counselor may assist with coordinating college and career visits and other team functions as needed. When serving, the PAC will support various areas of exploration and pathway support for 12th grade students, including facilitating connections to college classes at CCRI and other local colleges. Responsibilities Include: •Supporting 12th grade students in the development of their post met plans. •Educating students about the resources available for each stage of the postsecondary access timeline. •Collaborating with advisors to plan and facilitate group instructional activities around postsecondary access. •Meeting with students individually at important stages in the timeline. •Maintaining thorough digital records of student and advisory progress in the postsecondary process, and providing regular updates to principals and school leadership. •When available, organizing informational visits to post high school education options. Required Qualifications: •Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred •Experience working with high school aged youth •Knowledge of postsecondary pathways •Knowledge of the current college application process and recruiting processes. •Strong written and oral communication skills •Ability to support and train groups of people as well as individuals at a time •Ability and willingness to take initiative to meet the key goals of students and staff. •Highly organized with a strong attention to detail •Willingness to develop cultural competency •Ability to meet deadlines •Ability to work with a diverse population of students, staff, and families •Able to work as part of a team and independently To Apply: Please send your cover letter, resume, 2-3 references and any necessary certifications/transcripts to: Email:
