Overview:
VHC Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist to support our hospital-based Behavioral Health team. In this flexible, per diem role, you will provide psychiatric consultation for medical and surgical inpatients and collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary care teams to address complex behavioral health needs.
Schedule Needs:
- Daytime shift availability needed (weekdays and weekends)
- Flexible PRN scheduling based on candidate availability and departmental needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans
- Provide consultation services for hospitalized patients with psychiatric comorbidities
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other clinical staff
- Deliver crisis intervention and follow-up care recommendations as needed
- Document clinical care in accordance with hospital and professional standards

Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
- Experience in consultation-liaison psychiatry or hospital-based psychiatry preferred
- Active Virginia medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
- Comfortable working independently in a hospital setting
