Position Overview

We are seeking a collaborative School Psychologist to support early childhood programs within community-based child care settings. This unique, primarily non-evaluative role focuses on building the capacity of educators and administrators through consultation, data-based decision making, and implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

This position offers the opportunity to work preventively and proactively within early learning environments. While formal evaluations are not part of the core responsibilities, the psychologist may occasionally conduct limited screening or targeted assessments to support team-based planning. The School Psychologist will be supported by a multidisciplinary advisory team guiding implementation across participating programs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • MTSS Implementation & Support:
    • Support child care programs in developing and implementing tiered systems of academic, behavioral, and developmental support.
    • Facilitate and guide data-based decision-making teams to select, monitor, and refine interventions.
  • Consultation & Coaching:
    • Provide embedded consultation and coaching to early childhood educators and administrators.
    • Support staff in understanding child development, behavior, and effective strategies for individual and classroom-wide support.
  • Collaboration with Related Service Providers:
    • Work closely with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, mental health professionals, and other providers to plan and coordinate interventions using a team-based approach.
  • Screening & Early Identification:
    • Assist in the development and coordination of universal developmental and behavioral screening processes.
    • Conduct minimal, targeted assessments when necessary to support team planning and early intervention.
  • Referral & Liaison Responsibilities:
    • Act as a liaison to local school districts when formal special education evaluations are recommended.
    • Facilitate connections to Help Me Grow and other early intervention services for developmental evaluations and supports.
  • Professional Development:
    • Help design and deliver professional development for child care staff and administrators on MTSS, behavior supports, trauma-informed practices, and more.
    • Receive access to cutting-edge professional development in the latest neuroscience-informed and brain-based educational practices.
  • Support from Advisory Team:
    • Work in close coordination with and receive ongoing guidance from a multidisciplinary advisory team dedicated to high-quality MTSS implementation and continuous improvement across programs.
  • Documentation & Communication:
    • Maintain accurate records of services, recommendations, and team actions
    • Ensure clear and timely communication among stakeholders and community partners.
Qualifications
  • Master's or Specialist degree in School Psychology
  • Valid School Psychologist license/certification in Ohio.
  • Experience in early childhood or preschool settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MTSS, early childhood development, trauma-informed care, and inclusive practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
What We Offer
  • A unique opportunity to make an impact across multiple school communities through innovative, high-leverage consultation.
  • A supportive, forward-thinking team environment with a national reputation for excellence.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
  • Continuous professional learning and leadership opportunities.
  • Location: Montgomery County Educational Service Center - Regional Support
