Required Education, Certifications, Experience:
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work with Certification.
  • Minimum: 1 Year experience in a mental health or hospital setting. LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). This individual must demonstrate good communication skills both verbal and written, good judgment, flexibility, accountability, and acknowledge the standards of productivity set by the department. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Computer literacy.
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience in a mental health setting. Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record.

Responsibility Summary:
The Clinical Primary Therapist works with clients, either individually or in groups, to address mental health concerns. The Clinical Primary Therapist applies knowledge and skill to assist clients in recovery and illness management. The Primary Therapist is responsible to establish the boundaries of therapy including a comfortable safe environment, caring therapeutic culture and foundation for client / family engagement in recovery and behavioral management. The Primary Therapist completes a comprehensive assessment gathering data and information resulting in clinical formulation as the framework for development of the treatment plan. In collaboration with the client / family the Therapist establishes goals for treatment and identifies the interventions to promote goal achievement. The Clinical Primary Therapist is responsible for timely accurate documentation in the client's medical record, coordination of care with colleagues in the clinic and colleagues throughout the continuum to secure the appropriate treatment resources to promote client health. The Primary Clinical Therapist participates in the on call rotation to the Emergency Departments to provide mental health crisis evaluation and collaborate with the on-call psychiatrist to develop appropriate plan of care. The Primary therapist will provide direct oversight to another primary therapist. This consists of:
  • Review of complex clinical cases and documentation by the medical record number.
  • Random review (10%) of the therapist's charts/EMR for compliance with anchor elements.
  • Random review (10%) safety plans for compliance with anchor elements.
  • Random review (10%) intakes for compliance with anchor elements.
  • Random review (25%) documentation for compliance with OMH regulations.
  • Work with therapists to grow clinically.
  • Ensure positive clinical outcomes using evidence-based methods.
