Job Description
MFT-PRN Research Project Coordinator (part-time 17.5 hrs/week)
Are you interested in working with faculty, students, and the public in an exciting, ongoing research project? The Marriage and Family Therapy Practice Research Network (MFT-PRN) is a large scholarly project within the School of Family Life’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program, and we need you as our new Research Project Coordinator! In this position, you will help manage the day-to-day details of the project, including working with the executive team to train and supervise students, ensure human subjects research approval, monitor data collection, and maintain and nurture relationships with new and existing sites. This position is a great opportunity for someone with an advanced degree who wants part-time, flexible hours. We look forward to talking with you about your fit for this position!

What You’ll Do In This Position
- Serve as the main liaison and point of contact for the MFT-PRN project, including answering questions about the portal, managing the IRB process, and working with the data collection firm employed for the research study
- Clean and manage the storage of data and monitor datasets for completion and compliance
- Assist in data analysis as requested by the executive team
- Maintain the MFT-PRN website and respond to issues with the portal
- Coordinate and arrange training needs for staff related to portal use and data protection
- Train student research assistants in all research and data collection procedures
- Manage schedules and work with faculty advisor to address concerns with student performance
- Manage and coordinate student participation in clinic evaluation
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Self-starter who does not need external pressure from supervisors to perform well
- Interpersonal skills necessary to build strong relationships with research sites, students, and faculty on the research project
- Strong supervisory skills, with the ability to keep teams motivated and working well together
- Strong organizational skills
- Master’s or PhD in Marriage & Family Therapy, Human Development, Family Studies, or related field
- Clinical degree or clinical experience
- Understanding of advanced research methods, statistical software, and database management
- Data management skills using STATA or similar software
