Clinical Psychologist for Luke Air Force Base 56 Medical Group, Arizona
Outpatient Psychologist working with Active Duty in the Mental Health Clinic

Ideal Candidate:

  • strong clinical orientation and trauma-focused training
  • experience in solution-focused therapy, with sessions lasting between 8-15 sessions
  • ability to see 5 + patients per day

Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum of three years of experience as a licensed clinical psychologist in a clinical setting utilizing the DSM-5 for diagnosis.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from an APA-accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Successful completion of an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.

Duties:

  • Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources.
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
  • Assist in the rehabilitation of patients.
  • As required, consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military commanders.
  • Maintain accurate and current notes in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR) within the timeframe of policy and procedures for all patients seen, as appropriate, and produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
  • Participates in military-specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre/post deployment screening)
  • Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.

Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Responsible for applying psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidence-based therapies, and psychological testing/psycho-diagnostic testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.

  • Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: Quality Improvement meeting, professional staff meetings, Commander's staff meetings, Mental Health Flight meetings, and others required by applicable regulations, MTF guidance, or as directed by the Mental Health Flight Commander or his/her designated representative.

  • 40 hours per week
  • can work 4/10hr shifts or 5/8hr shifts
  • No weekends, No call
