This professional will provide comprehensive consultation, individual/group counseling, and assessment services designed to enhance student potential to optimally benefit from educational experiences.Qualifications: Washington State ESA certification as a school psychologist plus a masters degree in school psychology and/or counseling.Prefer experience providing consultation /counseling services at the pre-school, primary, middle, and/or high school levels and experience in parent training.Must be familiar with State of Washington rules and regulations for programs providing services to children with handicapping conditions.Experience working with IEP online preferred.Prefer experience with curriculum-based assessment techniques.Previous experience in school psychology, counseling, special education, or classroom teaching, preferred.Must provide own transportation.Must possess a valid drivers license.Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse.Knowledge, willingness to learn, or experience working with ELL students, preferred.Energy and enthusiasm in working with students with disabilities.Knowledge in, or willingness to learn, computerized instructional technology.Ability to relay humor and positive regard to students and colleagues.Willingness to participate in staff development courses aligned with the school and district initiatives.Fulfill all other responsibilities as assigned. Create excitement around teaching and learning and maintain staff and student morale.

Demonstrate flexibility, resourcefulness, respect for others, and a sense of humor!Duties and Responsibilities: Assess learner levels/needs and determine eligibility for services.Identifies and assesses the learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups to include environmental factors that affect learning and adjustment.Uses assessment data about the student(s) and their environment in developing appropriate interventions and programs.Provides crisis intervention follow-up.Consults with parents, staff, and administration regarding learner levels/needs.Coordinate school and community resources to meet needs.Conducts staffing and IEP conferences. Provides evaluations for building a special education population.Functions as the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) assessment leader and maintains compliance paperwork.Performs other responsibilities related to the role of school psychologist as determined by the Director of Special Education.Experience with, and commitment to, students with a variety of educational abilities, skills, and backgrounds. Model integrity, ethical behavior, courage, compassion, and a sense of humor.This position classification requires subject matter expertise, psychological assessment, and guidance processes. Responsible and direct related assessment and psychological counseling are required to perform problem analysis and to arrive at alternative solutions to student academic, psychological, and emotional problems, issues, and concerns.

The position classification performs decision analysis continually and makes judgments and decisions of considerable consequence. The functional role of this position classification requires the application of a variety of assessment protocols and interpretation of data, facts, procedures, and policies pertaining to student educational programming and psychological adjustments. The employee meets frequently with school administrators, teachers, other educational staff, and parents to communicate information, data, and alternative problem solutions. This position classification involves work that requires sitting a portion of the time, walking, and standing for extended periods.

This position requires accurate perception of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational and psychological materials, and providing highly technical oral and written information.
