Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in addiction counseling and patient care, along with a strong understanding of medical records and patient assessment. The candidate will be ADT certified with the state of Maryland.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments to determine the level of care needed
- Provide addiction counseling and support to patients (individual & groups)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes for accurate documentation
- Offer case management services to support patients' recovery journey
Experience:
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting
- Proficiency in patient assessment and addiction counseling
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records management
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems
- Strong background in patient care and case management
- Ability to apply behavior analysis techniques effectively
