Help create a brighter, stronger future for the children we serve at Shriners Children’s Southern California (SCSC). We are a family-centered, pediatric subspecialty Ambulatory Surgical Center located in Pasadena, providing complex care for children with orthopedic conditions.

Job Overview:

Shriners Children’s of Southern California provides specialty care for patients’ ages 0 -21. Social Workers are an integral part of our multidisciplinary team that provides family centered care for patients.

The position is per diem, non exempt and health insurance eligible. The Social Worker payscale is $38.40/hour - $57.60/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities:

The Social Worker is responsible for providing assessments, planning, interventions and follow-up for patients and family members at Shriners Children's across the continuum of care. Through this function, by joining the team, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact on our patient's experience. You'll help to provide continuity of care for positive outcomes in our family centered environment.

Biopsychosocial assessment
Crisis intervention
Brief Suicide Screening Assessment
Participation in Multidisciplinary Rounds/Conferences
Patient and family support and education
Referrals to community based services
Discharge and transition planning
