Clinical Director – Dothan, AL

Position Overview:

The Clinical Director will manage the day-to-day operations of the respective level of care. Ensure that the level of care is provided in accordance with ADMH Administrative Code goals and objectives established for this service. Provide full-time responsibility for the quality of clinical care and the appropriateness of clinical programs as delineated in the job description. Be verified for compliance with ADMH Administrative Code by ADMH MHSAS certification process. Manage program operations. Supervise the Counselors and Counselor Interns who provide treatment and casework services to patients in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and with BayMark’s policies and procedures. Ensure timely documentation of patient services based on plan of care. Identify other physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs for assigned patients. Manage related expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner in accordance with the company’s budget. Travel as necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients.
  • Monitors treatment and counseling of all patients.
  • Provides clinical management for the clinical staff
  • Assigns counselors’ caseloads, amends when necessary.
  • Screens potential patients and assists with determining eligibility.
  • Facilitates intakes or assist with intake process.
  • Conducts quality assurance file reviews.
  • Completes and submits patient death reports, as needed.
  • Reviews and countersigns assessments and treatment plans for quality and accuracy for Counselor Interns.
  • Ensures accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Regulations governing NTP clinics.
  • Facilitates performance improvement discussions, documentation and follow up.
  • Assists in new hire onboarding and training.
  • Assists with interviews for open positions.
  • Attend staff meetings and participates in those meetings.
  • Support organizational and departmental philosophies, goals, and objectives and through own behavior lead and motivate others to do so.
  • May be required to temporarily counsel a caseload of patients under special circumstances.
  • Participate in supervisor meetings, as requested.
  • Assist with making deposits.
  • Assist with monitoring employee attendance.
  • Assist with completing incident reports.
  • Provide guidance and support to counselors needing to obtain licensure and / or certification.
  • Oversee counselor related annual trainings and ensure trainings are completed.
  • Facilitate employee performance discussions and evaluations.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.
  • Must be present during working hours at the office for in person meetings and access to a computer without violating company policy.
  • Communicate clinic, employee and patients concerns to employees and leadership.
  • Attend and lead treatment team meetings.
  • Assist in program development activities.
  • Support organizational and departmental philosophies, goals, and objectives and through own behavior lead and motivate others to do so.
  • Regular attendance is to be maintained and manage attendance for the clinical staff.
  • Adherence to a code of conduct conducive with BayMark Services policy is expected.
  • Meet or exceed delivery of Company Service Standards in a consistent fashion.
  • Interact with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the Company’s mission.
  • Conduct all business activities in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age requirement of 21.
  • Have a minimum of either a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or psychiatric nursing and have a minimum of 3 years post master's relevant clinical experience or be a physician who has completed an approved residency in psychiatry.
  • Have a license LPC or LCSW
  • OR a substance abuse counselor certification: ADC, AADC, ICADC, or ICRCADC- credential from the Alabama Association of Addiction Counselors, National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, Alabama Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association, or International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse, Inc.
  • Must be licensed with an approved certifying body.
  • Meet and maintain ADMH Administrative Code Qualified Substance Abuse Professional (QSAPI) standards
  • Must have experience working with substance abuse population.
  • Must have or obtain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Exhibits excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in conducting assessments, utilization of ASI criteria for appropriate patient placement, treatment plan development, implementation, and review service coordination, and crisis intervention.
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of local community drug trends, the effects on the body and cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse, signs and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, the process of addiction and treatment, social service, economic, legal, and medical systems, HIV transmission-health, behavioral, and emotional implications of addiction.
  • Ability to work effectively within medical hierarchy, assist in complex problem solving with clients, and work autonomously.
  • Exhibits good time management skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable State Code of Regulations, HIPPA, OSHA, DEA,  and 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
    • Section 8.12, Medicaid 105, State Incident Reporting and Data Management/Clinical Billing System
  • Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.
  • Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Self-directed with ability to work with little supervision.
  • Demonstrate excellent observation, good judgment and communication skills. Ability to provide good written documentation in a timely manner.
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
  • Satisfactory drug screen and background check
