POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Mental Health Counselor provides mental health services to clients referred for assessment and assistance with the goal of facilitating and promoting appropriate behavioral health and personal growth. The Mental Health Counselor identifies the behavioral and mental health needs of clients and develops therapy goals and objectives for implementation through an individual therapy plan.

- Provides services with adults through individual, group, and family therapy services.
- Completes required documentation including records, reports, and case histories.
- Develops and maintains behavioral health programs including therapy goals to meet client needs.
- Conducts interviews, assessments, and observations.
- Participates in special assessments, individual therapy plans, and other meetings
- Refers clients to other public/private community agencies if necessary.
- Directs and provides oversight of mental health therapy services provided.
- Performs related duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:
- Maintain the highest ethical and professional standard as to clients and employees.
- Ability to avoid all dual relationships with clients (any personal, financial, business, social or sexual relationship or other activity outside the context of the traditional therapist-client relationship)

Education, Experience and License:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling, or equivalent social services field
- Hold or working towards licensure (Associate Level) as a Mental Health Counselor or Social Worker
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the social services field i.e., substance use, residential treatment, etc.
- Attend regular professional education classes/workshops to continuously upgrade job skills or promote the image of the agency.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
