Adult Post Doc Fellowship Opportunity with Geisinger Health System 2025-2026
Job Summary:
This position includes several rotation opportunities. Rotations will be determined by on applicant interest as well as their previous training experience, as well as department need. All post docs will have some time with primary care behavioral health. Other possible rotations include: women’s health, MDC cancer clinics, outpatient oncology, Specialty evaluations (pain/bariatric surgery).
The fellow will provide clinical care for patients under the supervision of attending psychologists. This position is full-time and all job responsibilities are completed on site in person. Geisinger Psychology services provide visits both in person and through telemedicine to best serve patient needs.

Job Duties:
Summary of PCBH responsibilities:
Primary care psychologists (and those in training) are viewed as valuable team members and are consulted on a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, acute stress disorder, smoking cessation, weight loss, and treatment adherence for chronic diseases such as COPD, heart failure, and diabetes
Fellows will provide targeted, evidence-based care through warm hand offs and brief episodes of treatment. Fellows collaborate with attending physicians, residents, psychiatrists, advanced practitioners, medical case managers, nursing staff, and medical pharmacists routinely to deliver comprehensive, quality care to patients.
Summary of PsychoOncology responsibilities:
Provide integrated behavioral health care to cancer patients and their families, coordinating with medical providers.
Provide short-term outpatient psychotherapy, curbside consultations, and possibility of inpatient consultations.
Participate in disease-site specific tumor board meetings
Opportunity to collaborate with bone marrow transplant team and complete pre-transplant evaluations
Responsibilities of all Geisinger Fellows:
Responsibilities include assessment, treatment plan, and documentation of patient encounters
Attendance at team huddles, provider meetings, and Medical Home meetings add additional interdisciplinary, team-based care opportunities.
In addition to clinical experience, the fellow will attend regular seminars with other Geisinger psychology fellows on professional topics (e.g., preparation for the EPPP, vita preparation, interviewing skills, salary negotiation) and specific health psychology topics (e.g., chronic pain, endocrine disorders, CBT for insomnia, LGBTQ and diversity training).
The fellow will also participate in two hours of individual supervision each week and will have ½ day of protected time for research and program development. Fellows may have the opportunity to work with the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, train medical residents or students, and/or supervise PCBH interns.
Education:
PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology and completion of an APA-accredited internship with relevant experience required.
Salary and Benefits:
Geisinger salary and benefits are highly competitive, especially considering low to medium cost of living in our geographical area. Annual salary is $52,000 and benefits include professional liability insurance, 5 CE days, $750 for CE, 15 PTO/sick days, and 5 relocation days.
