Summary

This position is located in the Mental Health Service located at the Bedford VA Healthcare System. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week.

Duties

Help

The oversight of all clinical activities which occur in VA Bedford's VITAL Program. The Program Manager exercises wide latitude and independent judgment in coordinating staff and resources for these programs.

Duties may include, but are not limited to::

  • Assigns and directs VITAL program clinical staff, provides leadership, orientation, staff development, clinical guidance and oversight.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, and program guidelines.
  • Coordinates administrative and programmatic resources
  • Monitors outcomes of Veterans utilizing VITAL resources using data-driven quality assurance processes.
  • Coordinates and arranges weekly group schedules.
  • Conducts ongoing patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Collects and monitors data regarding patient referrals.
  • Conducts program outreach/education to other VA hospitals, clinics and Vet Centers. and colleges.
  • Establishes and monitors clinic profiles in terms of availability, utilization & scheduling.
  • Serves as administrative agent for patients who wish to convey complaints,
  • Facilitated weekly staff meetings.
  • Oversees and monitors patient adherence to program and medical center rules, regulations and policies.
  • Develops and executes administrative forms, form letters, tracking and monitoring spread sheets & programs, program schedules, attendance tracking, and patient certificates.
  • Monitors and coordinates the work of peer support specialists who work in the program.


Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications

Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

Basic Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • English Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. § 7302(f),
  • Education: Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work.   • Licensure: Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Current state requirements may be found by going to
