Allen Stahl + Kilbourne is seeking a highly organized, people-oriented professional to join our team in a dual-role position focused on client intake and paralegal support. This unique position plays a critical part in both welcoming new clients and supporting attorney(s) with case management and legal tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or a Paralegal Studies Certificate required
- Minimum 1-2 years legal experience required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well independently but enjoys being part of a team
Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for prospective clients: conduct intake interviews, assess needs, and gather relevant information
- Maintain accurate and detailed records in our case management system
- Handle the opening of new files and close file letters
- Receive, scan and disperse incoming mail to staff
- Assist attorney(s) in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Prepare and proofread legal correspondence and other written materials.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as directed by attorney(s).
- Schedule appointments, depositions, mediations, and court appearances for attorney(s).
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materials.
- File documents with the court and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
- Organize and manage case file, including maintaining electronic database.
- Track billable/non-billable time to client file.
- Perform administrative and clerical tasks to support the legal team.
