As a School Psychologist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for conducting evaluations, supporting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with teachers and families, and helping ensure compliance with Michigan-specific regulations. You'll have time built into your weekly schedule to complete paperwork, engage in professional collaboration, and plan high-quality indirect services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychological services to students in grades K12, including assessment, consultation, prevention, and intervention.

  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education under MARSE (Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education).

  • Support the development, implementation, and progress monitoring of IEPs in collaboration with general and special education staff.

  • Utilize culturally responsive practices when evaluating and working with English Language Learner (ELL) students, with sensitivity to linguistic and cultural factors.

  • Engage in meaningful consultation with educators, administrators, and parents/guardians to promote student success.

  • Facilitate small group or individual interventions as needed to support student mental health and well-being.

  • Allocate designated time weekly for paperwork, planning, indirect consultation, and case management.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.

  • Participate in school-based and district-wide professional learning communities and contribute to school improvement efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or Specialist degree in School Psychology from a NASP-accredited program.

  • Active or eligible for Michigan School Psychologist license (must obtain before or upon start of employment).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Michigan special education law (MARSE) and experience applying these guidelines in practice.

  • Experience evaluating and supporting ELL students using linguistically and culturally appropriate tools and strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and collaborative relationships with students, staff, and families.

  • Commitment to equity, inclusive practices, and continuous improvement.

Additional Information:

  • Caseload options include K5, 68, or 912, with some flexibility based on candidate experience and preference.

  • This is a fully onsite position with supportive leadership and opportunities for mentorship and professional development.

  • Candidates should be prepared to speak to their knowledge of Michigan-specific policies and practices, including MARSE and engagement strategies during the interview process.

  • New graduates and experienced school psychologists are encouraged to apply.
