Professionals with expertise in school psychology are sought to support a full-time role within a K-12 school setting in Avondale, AZ, for the 2025/2026 academic year under a contract agreement. This position involves a diverse caseload serving students across all grade levels, offering an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on student success through comprehensive psycho-educational services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the screening, referral, evaluation, and placement process to assess student needs.
  • Conduct thorough psycho-educational evaluations to identify academic, social, and emotional requirements of students.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to school personnel regarding the implementation of evaluation recommendations.
  • Deliver counseling services to support students' success within the school environment.
  • Maintain compliance with Arizona State Board of Education regulations and special education laws.
  • Coordinate with external agencies for testing and counseling services.
  • Conduct home visits as necessary to support student welfare.
  • Perform legally required re-evaluations for special education students.
  • Adhere to P.L. 94-142 guidelines throughout the referral, evaluation, and placement processes for exceptional students.

Qualifications:

  • Valid School Psychologist credentials.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal special education laws and educational regulations.
  • Experience evaluating and counseling K-12 students in a school setting.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct home visits and engage with families effectively.
