TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School (TECCA CMVS) is a full-time tuition-free virtual public school district that employs over 200 faculty and staff, and serve 3,000 students across grades K-12 across Massachusetts. TECCA opened for the 201415 school year with approval by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Location Assignment: As a new hire, you are required to work a minimum of 2 (two) days per week for the first ninety school days of employment at the TECCA main office located at 141 Mansion Dr. East Walpole, MA.
After successful completion of the first 90 days, remote work may be added.Position and Responsibilities: The school psychologist is responsible for evaluating students referred through the special education process to determine eligibility for special education. The school psychologist is expected to be trained and experienced in a wide range of testing instruments and strategies recognized and accepted as professional practice. The school psychologist is expected to be knowledgeable of the features of disabilities included in special education regulations and the impact of disability on leaning. The school psychologist is expected to be part of the special education Team at TECCA and contribute to the development of an appropriate educational program for students.
The school psychologist reports to the Director of Special EducationDuration of Contract: 10-month position.The school psychologist is expected to: Complete psychological-educational evaluations consisting of assessment of Intellectual capacity, learning style, academic achievement, social/emotional functioning for any student referred through the special education process. Complete all assessments, reports and associated documents within the regulatory timelines in accordance with state and federal mandates pertaining to special education. Participate in all Team Meetings when appropriate; contribute to the determination of eligibility for special education services or other appropriate educational plans. Consult to special education team on student related concerns when appropriate.
Complete any and all paper work and data entry required to maintain compliance with special education requirements and TECCA requirements. Provide parent/guardian with an opportunity to discuss assessment results separate from the Team meeting when requested. Understand and maintain confidential treatment of all information related to a student and his/her program. Have experience and skill using technology to communicate and record information.
Travel, as needed, to conduct the business described above.
