A K-12 school district in Geneva, IL is seeking a dedicated social worker to provide support during the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time, 0.5 FTE contract position based at one of the elementary schools within the district. The role requires a candidate to work onsite and engage directly with students and staff to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to support mental health and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop intervention plans.
- Conduct assessments and connect families with community resources as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to address student needs effectively.
- Assist in crisis intervention and support for students facing challenging situations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a social worker in the state.
- Experience working within a K-12 school setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite role and engage with the school community.
