Job Description:Position Summary: Assists counselors in individual and group counseling settings to provide clients with optimal behavioral health solutions. Documents client interactions and observations and actively participates in clinical team meetings. Provides educational and support resources to clients and stakeholders and performs client support tasks such as transportation and conflict resolution as needed.Critical Tasks:
  • Assists Counselors in providing individual and group counseling and monitoring clients during daily living activities.
  • Participates in clinical team meetings to assess client progress and assists clients in receiving services that support achieving recovering goals.
  • Assists in performing Behavioral Health assessments of clients and developing treatment plans to meet client needs.
  • Documents and records client interactions and observations to more accurately assess client conditions and recovery efforts.
  • Collaborates with clients, their family members, and other stakeholders to assess barriers to success and options to address such barriers.
  • Responds to emergency situations and contacts the appropriate resources to ensure proper intervention and client safety.
  • Addresses client complaints to provide appropriate and timely resolution.
  • Transports clients between facilities as needed.
  • Facilitates support groups and educational programming to provide stakeholders with a better understanding of behavioral health challenges.
  • Performs other job-related activities as requested.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates Degree in Chemical Dependency, Mental Health, or a closely related field of study preferred.
  • 6 months of experience in behavioral health / substance abuse experience, preferably with Native American populations.
  • Current and continuing BLS training and certifications.
  • State of Arizona driver’s license with no significant violations during the last 5 years.
  • Current state of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance card required.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community or other Native American cultures and community health services.
