Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and compassionate individual to serve in a dual role as a Psychiatric Technician and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical office setting and a passion for helping individuals overcome mental health challenges, particularly depression. This role requires both strong patient care skills and technical aptitude to administer TMS therapy.
Responsibilities
· Support providers with patient care activities in a clinical outpatient setting.
· Collect and document vital signs, medical history, and intake information.
· Monitor patient behavior and communicate observations to clinical staff.
· Perform pre-treatment assessments for TMS therapy, including reviewing patient history and ensuring eligibility.
· Prepare and position patients for TMS sessions, ensuring comfort and safety.
· Operate and calibrate TMS equipment following established protocols.
· Administer TMS therapy and monitor for any adverse reactions or discomfort.
· Document treatment progress and accurately record data in electronic medical records.
· Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, phone calls, and documentation.
· Educate patients on TMS procedures, expected outcomes, and potential side effects.
· Maintain a clean and organized clinical and treatment environment, adhering to infection control standards.
· Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory and safety guidelines.
· Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to mental health and TMS therapy.
· Collaborate with the care team to ensure effective, individualized treatment plans.
Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office setting (Required).
· Experience in a behavioral health or psychiatric environment (Preferred, not required).
· Familiarity with mental health disorders, particularly depression.
· Strong understanding of TMS therapy principles and techniques (training may be provided).
· Excellent technical skills to operate and troubleshoot medical equipment.
· Comfort working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
· Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR).
· Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related field preferred.
· Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
· Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
