Social Worker (LSW) – Behavioral Health & Recovery Services

Overview

Francine’s Legacy is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Licensed Social Worker (LSW) to support our behavioral health and sober living programs. This role is central to delivering trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care to individuals navigating addiction, mental health challenges, housing instability, and family trauma — particularly in underserved communities.

As a Social Worker, you will conduct assessments, facilitate individual and group therapy, coordinate care, and ensure clinical documentation aligns with OhioMHAS and Medicaid requirements. The ideal candidate is experienced in working with diverse, lower-income populations, and is passionate about bringing hope and power to the children and adults in our local communities. Your work will directly support individuals and families on their path to healing, growth, and long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment/service plans
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions addressing emotional, behavioral, and substance use challenges
• Lead or co-lead group therapy sessions focused on recovery, mental health, trauma, and coping skills
• Deliver supportive counseling, psychoeducation, and case management under clinical supervision
• Supervise and guide QMHS, CDCA, and peer staff on clinical best practices, documentation, and scope of practice
• Provide crisis intervention services to clients in sober living or community-based settings
• Maintain accurate, timely, and Medicaid-compliant documentation, including progress notes and service logs
• Facilitate access to housing, recovery supports, healthcare, and other essential community resources
• Engage with clients in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, building trust, resilience, and empowerment
• Participate in treatment team meetings, audits, and quality improvement efforts
• Utilize motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care to engage and empower clients
• Uphold ethical social work standards and participate in required ongoing professional development

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Active LSW license (Ohio) in good standing
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, mental illness, or dual diagnoses
• Ability to conduct individual and group therapy sessions effectively
• Commitment to serving underserved and marginalized communities
• Knowledge of Section 8 housing, Medicaid billing, OhioMHAS regulations, and local resources
• Skilled in motivational interviewing, crisis de-escalation, and trauma-informed approaches
• Strong documentation skills, including DAP/SOAP notes and treatment planning
• Experience supervising or mentoring QMHS/CDCA staff or interns preferred
• Comfortable working in both outpatient and community-based settings, including sober living homes
• Must pass BCI/FBI background check and maintain required trainings

Compensation & Employment Type

• Position Type: Part-time or Contractor (1099)
• Rate: $30–$45/hour depending on experience, duties, and caseload
• Schedule: Flexible, with required weekly note reviews, client sessions, and team meetings
