of life in underserved communities by reducing health disparities through

self-empowerment, holistic health education, and direct services. We offer

comprehensive HIV care, harm reduction, and outreach programs grounded in equity,

compassion, and community empowerment.

Position Overview

Project VIDA is looking for a dedicated Outreach & Early Intervention Specialist to

join our fight against HIV and improve access to health services in underserved

communities. This role focuses on street and digital outreach, HIV/STI testing, and

health navigation for high-risk groups, particularly within Black, LatinX, and LGBTQ+

communities.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead late-night and weekend outreach (street, clubs, online, etc.)

● Deliver HIV/STI counseling and rapid testing services

● Conduct risk-reduction planning and individualized health education

● Provide referrals to PrEP, HIV care, mental health, housing, and substance use

support

● Identify and build new outreach partnerships and locations

● Facilitate group sessions on risk, healthy relationships, and self-care

● Ensure linkage to care for clients testing positive for HIV/STIs

● Accompany clients to medical appointments as needed

● Maintain accurate reports and documentation

● Complete phlebotomy training and required certifications

Qualifications

● AA or HS Diploma + 2 years experience required; BA/BS in Social Services

preferred

● Bilingual English/Spanish required

● Open to flexible scheduling (nights/weekends)

● HIV prevention/counseling certification (or ability to obtain)

● Experience with LGBTQ+, Black, and LatinX communities

● Strong communication, outreach, and facilitation skills

● Reliable transportation required
