About Job

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


A full-time Social Worker position is available for a leave of absence role from August 18th through October 11th in a K-12 school setting located in Waukegan, IL. This contract opportunity involves providing vital support to students across PreK through 8th grade.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans to support student well-being and academic success.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student challenges and create a supportive environment.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions as needed.
  • Connect families with community resources to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all student interactions and progress.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student cases and coordinate services.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW preferred) with appropriate licensure or certification for school social work.
  • Experience working with children in a school or similar environment, preferably with PreK-8th grade populations.
  • Strong understanding of child development and social-emotional learning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to make appropriate referrals.
