We are currently in search of an experienced Mental Health Counselor (Therapist) for our Frederick, MD location. As a Mental Health Counselor you will
- Work part-time- 3 days per week
- On site clinical presence at our Frederick, MD location
- Run at least two group therapy sessions per week, facilitating a supportive environment and promoting recovery goals through collaborative group interventions
- Provide high quality clinical therapeutic services to patients while assessing and tracking client’s stages of change readiness and recovery
- Ensure services are provided with client-centered and family-centered healing approach and is delivered through goal specific interventions
- Conduct initial interviews and provide a written assessment
- Develops a treatment alliance with patients that is mutual, collaborative, and individualized, meeting changing clinical needs throughout treatment
- Coordinates care for all appropriate support services, including referral sources, family members, and other support providers
- Regularly assess treatment progress with the client, and/or the clinical treatment team
- Provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes and billing and submit said documentation as specified by Medicaid, Medicare and CARF standards
- Engages in the following applicable duties case management sessions, including assessments, collaborative treatment plans, BAMs, discharge planning, partnership with referral sources and/or other providers
- Ensure compliance with governing agency and reporting requirements
- Responsible for completing documentation within 24 hours of competing a service and meets state and CARF standards
- Maintain the clinical records and compile documentation required by CCBH and governing agencies
- Participate in staff meetings, program clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions and in-service as required
- Ensure confidentiality regarding client records, treatment and client information
- Exhibit clear, professional, respectful and effective communication when interfacing with clients, coworkers, families and external contacts
- Ability to work independently and implementing time management and productivity strategies
- Exhibit a high degree of ethical conduct, integrity and confidentiality
- Stay current with updated research and best practices
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling psychology or clinically related field required
- Any of the following licenses are required LCSW-C, LCPC, LMSW, LGPC
- Active and in good standing in the state of Maryland
- Prior experience working with adults, substance use patients or co-occurring disorders a plus
- PHP experience a plus
- Must be experienced and proficient in using an electronic health record system
