About this JobThe mission of the Acadiana Area Human Services District is to improve the qualify of life for citizens of Acadiana who have behavioral health and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities.Minimum QualificationsPossession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus:A master's degree in social work.NOTE:
Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundJob Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:As a Social Worker, you will function in the capacity of a behavioral health counselor:
  • serving the acute and/or chronically mentally ill adult population, the emotionally/behaviorally disturbed child/adolescent population and their families and /or clients with addictive disorders/co-occurring disorders.
  • collaborating with psychiatrists, medical psychologists, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff regarding therapeutic interventions, diagnosis, and provision of evidence-based treatments via individual, family, or group therapy for clients indicated as meeting target population criteria.
Position -Specific Details:Location: This position is located in the Acadiana Area Human Services District - Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic in Lafayette, LAAppointment Type: Probational or PromotionalCareer Progression Group (CPG): This position participates in a CPG and may be filled as a Social Worker 1, 2, 3, or 4 level at which the vacancy is filled be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected.
