The Plum Borough School District seeks a dynamic, student centred Elementary & Secondary School Counselor to lead with compassion, purpose, and data-driven impact. The Elementary and Secondary School Counselor PK-12 is a student-centered professional implementing a comprehensive, data-driven, and developmentally appropriate school counseling program aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. The counselor promotes academic achievement, social/emotional development, and college/career readiness for all students while addressing diverse learners' unique needs. As an advocate, collaborator, and leader, the school counselor works to remove barriers to student success, foster equitable access to educational opportunities, and support students in becoming resilient, empowered learners and responsible citizens. The School Counselor uses evidence-based practices, builds strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the community, and embraces continuous professional growth to remain current with best practices in school counseling.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum Education:
Master's Degree in School Counseling or a closely related field.
Additional coursework or credentials in trauma-informed care, mental health counseling, crisis response, or career development is preferred. - Minimum Experience:
Successful counseling experience in K-12 educational settings.
Experience with data-driven program planning, intervention design, leadership roles, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania certification as an Educational Specialist, Elementary and Secondary School Counselor PK-12 (CSPG 76)
- A licensed professional counselor (LPC) credential is preferred, demonstrating advanced competency in mental health counseling, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and/or comprehensive school counseling aligned with the ASCA National Model.
