Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated counselor to join our team for an exciting afterschool experience. As a counselor, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment for children. You will be responsible for supervising students, leading activities, and fostering personal growth and teamwork among participants. Most important take-away: we are looking for a high energy individual that enjoys playing games and interacting with kids through games and social play.

Duties

• Supervise and ensure the safety of students during all activities including travel from the school to the gym via public transportation.
• Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and personal development.
• Provide guidance and support to students in developing new skills.
• Manage student behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
• Collaborate with fellow coaches to create a cohesive team atmosphere.

Skills

• Experience in childcare or related fields is preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills to maintain a productive environment.
• Ability to coach sports or lead physical activities effectively.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles to support students’ growth.
• Ability to manage behaviors constructively while promoting positive interactions among campers.
• A passion for working with children and creating memorable experiences.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
