This is a FT position for the '25-'26 school year. Position ends early to mid-June 2025 with the possibility of continuing into future school years. Part time work also available during summer months.
$28 per hour, 40 hours per week for '25-'26 school year
Master's Degree required

SUMMARY:
The School-Based Counseling Supervisor provides supervision, administration and monitoring of the Student Assistance Program (SAP) serving multiple school buildings in school districts served, which may vary year to year. The Supervisor provides direct service at specific school buildings to be determined at the beginning of each school year.

This position is FT, exempt, for ten months per year: September to June. Exact dates are determined at the beginning of the school year. Additional part time hours may be available as needed during summer months. Annual employment confirmation letter will be provided.

JOB DUTIES:
Administrative/Supervisory:
  • Supervises FT and PT SAP Liaisons who provide individual and group school-based mental health services to students throughout the school districts served. This includes at-least monthly individual supervision and monthly group supervision; also provides supervision and consultation as needed for emergent situations
  • Provides and/or initiates consultation and training, both in-agency and through outside opportunities, for SAP Liaisons to continually improve their clinical skills, assuring excellent services for students served
  • Assists with hiring of SAP Liaisons including screening, interviewing, and reference checks; assures that all schools have staff coverage per each school’s letter of agreement
  • Orients and trains new and returning SAP Liaisons in procedures and documentation, including use of county-required client/parent satisfaction survey forms
  • Completes annual employee evaluation with each assigned staff member
  • Schedules and conducts regular on-site school meetings; as needed, conducts on-site supervision @ school w/ staff; conducts status check-ins related to SAP services throughout the school year w/ staff and school administrators
  • Monitors documentation on a regular basis to assure compliance with SCA and other funder requirements; this includes paper charts and documentation entered into BHWorks
  • With supervisor and Office Administrator, assures that weekly and monthly billing paperwork is submitted correctly and timely for each SAP Liaison; this includes WITS and private pay tracking
  • Assures that satisfaction surveys are sent to teachers/students/parents as per contract expectations
  • Maintains contact with school representatives and assures that SAP Liaison schedules correspond with the contracted needs of each school
  • Monitors quality and timeliness of staff documentation, including individual and group notes, permission and release forms, and required satisfaction surveys to parents and school faculty; also includes documentation of MH-3 contacts, MH/ D&A SAP groups, and monitoring/ tracking of billing
  • Advocates with county MH Administrator as needed re: MH-3 extensions and to relay any student crises or unique district concerns/ situations
  • Maintains statistical information for each school site and each SAP Liaison; provides reports as scheduled and requested, including annual report for each school served
  • Attends all county-required meetings/trainings, bi-weekly supervision, and participates in Back to School Nights, school-based parenting presentations and district in-service presentations both as a program presenter and participant as requested
  • Collaborates with Prevention Coordinator re: shared staff and school site issues
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Direct Service:
  • Provides SAP individual and group services to students at assigned schools, assuring parental permission is obtained and documentation is completed as per contract and agency requirements
  • Communicates with supervisor and appropriate school personnel regarding any cases of concern for the safety or wellbeing of any student
  • Provides SAP screenings and follow-up reports for assigned students
  • Attends SAP meetings at assigned schools
  • Attends agency meetings and supervisory sessions as required
  • Completes weekly billing documentation fully and accurately

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in social services or counseling field required
  • 5 years of experience providing behavioral health services to students in a school setting
  • Ability to work in various school and office settings, sometimes sharing space with school staff
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to assure coverage at parent/school and other events
  • Reliable transportation required for travel between schools and between schools and agency
  • Willingness to schedule PTO usage to coincide with school calendar
