Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing therapeutic support to individuals, particularly those with developmental disabilities and children. This role requires a commitment to patient care, adherence to HIPAA regulations, and the ability to implement various therapeutic techniques including behavioral therapy and art therapy.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health and developmental challenges.
- Utilize psychopharmacology knowledge to support clients in understanding their medication management when applicable.
- Conduct assessments using applied behavior analysis techniques to inform treatment strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the clinic to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Engage in direct support activities that promote clients' overall well-being and personal development.
- Facilitate art therapy sessions as a means of expression for clients, particularly those who may struggle with traditional forms of communication.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed, ensuring the safety and stability of clients during challenging situations.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and its application in patient care.
- Proven experience in providing care for children in a therapeutic setting.
- Familiarity with art therapy techniques as a method of engagement and healing.
