The Intake Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient process for new patients entering the healthcare system. This position is responsible for gathering necessary information, coordinating appointments, and providing administrative support within a medical office setting. Duties
- Call patients upon acceptance of referral, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Collect and verify patient information including insurance details.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits with nurses.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff to relay patient needs and concerns.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and filing documents.
- Utilize medical terminology to accurately document patient interactions and maintain records.
Skills
- Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficient in medical administrative support tasks, including scheduling and record management.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
