Schedule: Full-time, Hourly
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services
Classification: Learned Professional (Non-Exempt under FLSA)
Position Summary:
Talbot Health Services is currently hiring a compassionate and skilled Counselor to join our clinical team in Clyde, Ohio. This role is essential in providing person-centered, trauma-informed therapeutic care to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. The Counselor will serve as a key member of our behavioral health team and will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual, group, and family counseling services
Conduct intake assessments, diagnostic summaries, and treatment planning
Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based care to clients
Coordinate with treatment team members and external providers for integrated care
Maintain timely and accurate documentation of clinical services and billing
Uphold agency and licensure standards for recordkeeping and compliance
Engage in case management, client education, referrals, and crisis interventions as needed
Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities
Meet assigned productivity and service delivery expectations
Required Qualifications:
Active Ohio license in one of the following: LSW, LPC, LCDC II, or LCDC III
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field
Good standing with Ohio licensing board
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a behavioral health field
Advanced licensure (LISW, LPCC, or LICDC)
CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Crisis prevention/de-escalation training
Core Skills and Attributes:
Strong understanding of mental health and substance use best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Office and community-based setting, may require travel within the region
Smoke-free, drug-free workplace
Must be able to sit at a desk, operate a computer, and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs
