Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate College Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students, helping them navigate their academic and personal challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Educational Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a college counselor, with a strong record of successful student placements in top tier universities (required)
  • Certification in College Counseling (CEP, IEC, or similar) is highly preferred
  • Deep understanding of U.S. college admissions processes, including requirements for both public and private institutions
  • Familiarity with standardized tests (SAT/ACT) and how they align with academic planning and admissions strategy
  • Skilled in using platforms such as Common App, UC Application, Naviance, and other college application tools
  • Experience providing guidance and feedback on college application essays and personal statements
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to engage effectively with students, parents
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive student information
  • Enthusiastic about mentoring students and helping them achieve their academic and personal goals

Duties:

  • Guide students and families through every step of the college admissions process with personalized academic and application planning
  • Provide ongoing training and support to educational consultants and program directors on college counseling practices
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of colleges, universities, academic programs, and evolving admissions trends
  • Organize and participate in college visits, fairs, and relevant educational events (e.g., NACAC)
  • Build and maintain relationships with college admissions representatives and academic institutions
  • Track student progress, proactively follow up, and ensure students meet all key benchmarks and deadlines
  • Assist students in brainstorming, writing, and refining college essays and personal statements
  • Serve as a reliable resource to students, families, and staff regarding college admission requirements and decision making
  • Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current in the field
