General Summary

Provides neuropsychological services to support WellSpan Health's various specialty practices, including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, and Medicine. These services include outpatient neuropsychological evaluations of children and adults with a wide variety of medical, neurological, and psychiatric conditions (e.g., neurodegenerative conditions, stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, differential diagnoses, mood disorders, ADHD, autism, and neurodevelopmental disabilities, etc.). Provides inpatient testing and consultation as requested. Provides clinical leadership and input as requested to support treatment teams, committees, and organizational projects. Provides education and clinical supervision for psychology trainees and other clinical staff as requested


Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provides neuropsychological evaluation and testing services in a multidisciplinary environment, including recommendations for referral sources related to diagnosis (DSM, ICD) and clinical interventions. Communicates findings to patients, referral sources and other relevant parties.
  • Provides all necessary documentation to reflect patient care status and to meet regulatory requirements, completing documentation within organizational timeframes.
  • Coordinates care of assigned patients with treatment team members and other providers, agencies, or referral sources as appropriate.
  • Provides clinical supervision and/or educational trainings for psychology trainees and other students as requested.
  • Develops and delivers professional and/or community education and training as requested.
  • Leads and/or participates in organizational projects and committees as assigned.
  • Demonstrates conduct that is ethical and professional. Operates within relevant laws.
  • Responds sensitively to issues of individual and cultural diversity in practice.
  • Complies with WellSpan Health Code of Conduct

Common Expectations:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age-specific data and provides appropriate, age-specific evaluations.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in professional trainings and keeping current in the professional literature.
  • Participates in administrative, clinical, outcomes, performance improvement and/or customer satisfaction projects/assignments as needed, designed to improve quality.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork and positive peer and interdisciplinary work relationships; practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Actively manages work schedule to maintain expected levels of productivity.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctorate Degree from psychology educational program required

Work Experience:

  • 1-year pre-doctoral psychology internship training experience required and
  • 2-years post-doctoral neuropsychology fellowship required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Psychologist Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Must have completed a psychology doctoral degree. Upon Hire Required and
  • One-year doctoral psychology internship program. Upon Hire Required and
  • Two-year neuropsychology fellowship. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must be board-certified or eligible for board certification in neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology (ABPN) or the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN). Upon Hire Required and
  • Must provide clearance per the Child Protective Services Law amended by PA Act 33 of 1985. Upon Hire Required
