Position: School Psychologist


Location: Wachusett Regional School District


Pay: In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement


The School Psychologist shall be licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The School Psychologist shall have experience in conducting student evaluations, providing behavioral consultations, and developing psycho-educational treatment recommendations.

The School Psychologist shall provide psychological services, consistent with relevant state and federal special education laws, National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Principles for Professional Ethics. In order to meet these responsibilities, the School Psychologist shall:

1. Participate as a member of school screening and school-based Student Assistant-type teams and maintain all relevant documentation;
2. Conduct psycho-educational screenings and assessments for referred students;
3. Interpret psycho-educational evaluation findings and communicate recommendations at Team meetings;
4. Assist in conducting preschool screening and/or evaluations on request of the Supervisor of Special Education;
5. Consult and collaborate with parents, school staff, and outside personnel regarding mental health, behavioral and educational concerns, including prevention-oriented approaches and implementation of the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan;
6. Serve as a resource to school personnel regarding evaluation instruments, and techniques;
7.Participate in behavioral intervention planning, including functional behavioral assessments, behavioral intervention plans, and manifestation determinations as required by IDEA ;
8.Assist in monitoring, evaluation, and transition planning for students in and out of District and District-wide programs upon the direction of the Supervisor of Special Education;
9. Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of psychology and education, and participate in training offered by the District; and
10. Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the Principal, Supervisor of Special Education or designee.
