Job Title: Patient Access Specialist
Location: Orlando, FL 32811
Duration: 6+ Months, Contract-to-Hire

Onsite Requirement: Must work onsite for a minimum of 90 days. Performance, including attendance and program knowledge, will be assessed after this period to determine eligibility for hybrid schedule.

Job Description
The Patient Access Specialist helps patients access medications and therapies by working closely with healthcare providers, patients, payors, and pharmacies. The role includes gathering and verifying insurance information, navigating benefit investigations, and assisting patients to make therapies more affordable and accessible.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure cases progress as required.
• Conduct benefit investigations and verify insurance information.
• Document coverage specifics and identify any restrictions.
• Initiate prior authorization processes and claims appeals.
• Report reimbursement trends to management.
• Assign cost-sharing solutions or refer to special programs.
• Communicate benefit investigation results to healthcare providers and patients.

Experience Required:

• 3 to 5 years in benefit investigation and insurance coverage analysis.
• 3 to 5 years interacting with healthcare providers regarding insurance requirements.
• Prior authorization experience is required.
• Experience in healthcare and insurance is preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Background in pharmacy, call centers, or medical office settings.
• Experience with enrollment, pre-assessment, and benefits processes.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer literacy.
• 1-2 years in claims, health insurance benefits, or healthcare billing.
• Familiarity with Salesforce systems is a plus.
