JOB TITLE:
- Early Intervention Specialist
OVERVIEW:
The Early InterventionSpecialist functions as a professional member of the Early ChildhoodIntervention (ECI) team representing the discipline of early intervention andprovides services for ECI children/families whose needs are determined to bemost appropriately served by this professional.
Community HealthcoreEarly Childhood Intervention serves children in Smith, Wood, Cherokee, Rains,Van Zandt, Henderson, and Anderson counties.
MINIMUM HIRING HOURLY SALARY:$21.50
RESPONSIBILITIES:
(May include but notlimited to the following):
- Coordinates all services within the program and betweenagencies for assigned children/families.
- Performs advanced duties in the implementation ofprograms design for zero-through-two-year-old children with developmentaldelays and their families.
- Has responsibility for independent judgment inenhancing children's skill development through design of learningenvironments, curriculum planning, and providing parents with informationand skills that enhance children's skill development.
- Exhibits working knowledge of ECI Policy andProcedures.
- Maintains integrity of documentation in client files.
- Understands and applies principles of family-centeredpractice.
- Functions as service coordinator for assigned clients.Responsible for coordinating all services within ECI and across agencies.
- Serves on the ECI Interdisciplinary Team and isresponsible for assigned services as identified on the IndividualizedFamily Service Plan (IFSP).
- Develops and maintains professional relationships withcommunity agencies/child serving entities that support public awareness ofthe ECI program.
- Must obtain Early Intervention Specialist credentialswithin required timeframe.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION ANDEXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's or graduate degree from an accrediteduniversity with a bachelor or graduate degree specialization in: earlychildhood development; early care and early childhood;earlychildhood special education; human development and family studies;psychology; social work;counseling;special education (withoutearly childhood emphasis); andsociology; orother degrees mayqualify depending on a review of transcripts and previous work experience.
- Based on course work may require additionaltraining upon hire.
CERTIFICATIONS,LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Driver's License

- Must be able to complete activities necessary toperform services, which includes but is not limited to bending, lifting upto 44 pounds, carrying, crawling, and kneeling.
- Must be able to tolerate excessive heat and cold.

- Smith, Wood, Cherokee, Rains, Van Zandt, Henderson, andAnderson counties.
