Position Summary
The Outdoor Education Manager oversees the development, coordination, and growth of in-person and online outdoor education programs for volunteers and older girls. This role ensures that volunteer trainers are certified, supported, and equipped to deliver engaging outdoor experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Outdoor Training Program Management
- Oversee and expand outdoor and older girl training offerings, ensuring high-quality, engaging programs throughout the Council jurisdiction.
- Manage volunteer trainer teams, ensuring trainers are certified, knowledgeable, and supported in their respective areas.
- Become or coordinate Instructor Trainers for certifications in the following areas:
- CPR/First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Lifeguarding, and Basic Water Safety
- Babysitting, Archery/Slingshots, Hatchet Throwing, and Watercraft Activities
- Girl Leadership Programs (Program Aide and Volunteer-in-Training)
- Troop Camp Certifications (TCC1 & TCC2)
Resource Development and Collaboration
- Create and update printed and digital training materials.
- Collaborate with GSACPC teams to enhance volunteer support and program delivery.
- Ensure accessible resources and effective communication for outdoor education initiatives.
Innovation and Leadership
- Research and implement innovative training methods.
- Partner with the Volunteer Support Senior Manager to achieve departmental goals.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and council initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the council’s mission.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work/volunteer experience.
- Competent in creating learning materials and facilitating coursework.
- Available to work various hours including evenings and weekends, when necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population including adults and girls.
- Ability to manage a multi-project workload, exercise initiative, and be an effective team leader/member.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including correct spelling and grammar and proofreading capabilities.
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the core competencies, values, and beliefs of GSACPC.

Compensation details: 50000-55000 Yearly Salary
