Position Start Date: September 1, 2025

Required Degree: MS or PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience: The Department of Psychology at Brigham Young University invites applicants of any academic rank to fill two part-time positions in the Department of Psychology to begin Fall Semester 2025. The selected candidates will show commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring. Our department values belonging, student mentoring, a collegial culture, and the ideals of open and reproducible research. Prior experience with teaching in writing in psychology is preferred.

Duties/Expectations: The responsibility of these faculty members is to teach Psych 307 (Writing Within Psychology). Selected candidates are expected to have the knowledge and ability to teach about writing conventions specific to the field of psychology, including APA style, empirical and theoretical writing, and critical literature review. Candidates should help students develop skills in constructing clear arguments, synthesizing research, and communicating psychological concepts effectively to academic and applied audiences. Instruction should emphasize both technical proficiency and ethical scholarship.

Psych 307 will be taught in two different sections for Fall Semester 2025:

  • DAY: 9:00-9:50am MWF in person
  • ONLINE: on demand through BYU Online
