Recreation Reimagined is dedicated to providing a nurturing and engaging environment for students. We strive to create a supportive community where children can grow, learn, and thrive. With the addition of our new TK Club, we are expanding our team and seeking a dedicated lead counselor to assist with our program.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Lead Counselor will oversee, coordinate, and lead the after-school program, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all students. This role requires a dynamic leader who can provide consistency and structure, working closely with staff, parents, and students to create a positive and enriching experience.

HOURS: 11:30am-5:00pm (M-F)

Key Responsibilities:

● Assist the Program Coordinator with the daily operations of the afterschool program,

including curriculum implementation, student management, and student support

● Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates and

addressing any concerns or questions in a timely and professional manner.

● Handle behavioral or disciplinary issues with sensitivity and in accordance with

Recreation Reimagined policies, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for all

students.

● Lead by example in creating a nurturing and engaging atmosphere that promotes

learning, creativity, and social-emotional development.

● Monitor and evaluate student progress and program effectiveness, making adjustments to curriculum or activities as needed.

● Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by following established protocols

and maintaining clear communication with staff and families.

● Manage program supplies and materials, ensuring that all resources are well maintained and available as needed.

Qualifications:

● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education

● Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early

childhood education.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive

relationships with students, parents, and staff.

● Ability to implement engaging and age-appropriate activities for young children.

● Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.

● Must pass full DOJ background test

● Must have CA Drivers License

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per year

Expected hours: 28 – 32 per week

Work Location: In person
