POSITION: The Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS), in the College of Education and Human Sciences, is seeking candidates for a full-time, eleven-month, career-track faculty position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Professional Practice in the area of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the department, primarily for the MFT program: expected teaching workload would be nine credit hours (three classes) each Fall and Spring semester.
  2. Mentor and advise MFT graduate students year-round.
  3. Serve as the MFT Clinic Director, reporting to the MFT Program Director under the Department Head.
  4. Ensure services provided year-round are within the scope of the clinic and meet appropriate ethical, legal, and competent service standards including the management of clinical assessment and case filing systems.
  5. Facilitate regular clinical trainings and staff meetings with student clinical interns.
  6. Maintain economic viability for the services provided consistent with the policies of the MFT program and HDFS Department including the management of weekly deposits and the MFTC annual budget.
  7. Maintain clinic facilities upkeep year-round and plan toward growth or development of the facilities, services provided, training of clinical staff including development and hosting of staff meetings, as well as staffing and resources needed for growth and development.
  8. Assist Department Head with development-related activities to support the development and maintenance of the MFTC and towards clinical training and resources for graduate students as needed.
  9. Work in a team-oriented clinical environment and demonstrate a commitment to clinical training.
  10. Participate in ongoing MFT program development including capstone development, MFT faculty and program meetings, MFT program retreats, offsite placement management, assisting with accreditation requirements, recruitment efforts and interviewing applicants, and serving on committees as needed.
  11. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the HDFS Department Head.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related focus; ABD doctoral candidates will be considered but the degree must be conferred prior to the official start date.
  2. Eligible for the AAMFT Clinical Fellow designation.
  3. Eligible for the AAMFT approved supervisor designation.
  4. LMFT-eligible in the state of Oklahoma.
  5. Provide evidence of employment eligibility as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses.
  2. Demonstrated ability to engage in responsibilities consistent with a comprehensive land-grant university.
  3. Previous experience supervising graduate students in a clinical training environment.
  4. Previous experience as a clinical provider in non-university team environments (agency, non-profit, and/or group practice settings).
  5. Previous clinic directing experience or clinical business operations and management.
  6. Previous leadership experience in state or national MFT organizations.
  7. Experience teaching sex therapy, addictions counseling, systemic therapy, and basic counseling skills.
  8. Demonstrated ability to teach using multiple modalities (e.g. online, in-person, hybrid).
  9. Qualified candidates may apply at the Associate level if commensurate with experience and accomplishments (e.g., prior clinical director experience, established record of teaching at the university level, prior experience as a clinical supervisor).
