Job Description
Summary:
The district is seeking a licensed School Psychologist to support the behavioral, emotional, and academic development of students. The role includes counseling, assessments, early intervention, and participation in IEP teams. The psychologist will work closely with educators, families, and other specialists to create and implement strategies that promote student success in a supportive school environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct formal and informal assessments of academic, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Observe students, review records, and interpret diagnostic data for IEP development
- Provide individual and group counseling in collaboration with the social work team
- Consult with teachers, aides, and staff to evaluate and implement interventions
- Participate in or lead problem-solving and MTSS/RTI meetings
- Refer families to external resources as needed and serve as liaison to community agencies
- Complete IEP documentation and maintain compliance with state regulations
- Contribute to staff development, school climate efforts, and student-focused initiatives
Experience You’ll Need:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist Endorsement
- Experience with psychological assessments, behavior plans, and intervention frameworks
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a school setting
- Strong communication, data analysis, and student advocacy skills
